Sangeet Ceremony At Castillogreen
The ceremony usually takes place two or three days before the wedding. It includes:
- Festive dancing and celebratory songs
- A dance-off between the bride and groom’s families
- Religious rituals such as a havan or puja to bless the couple and their upcoming union
- Traditional games for the couple to engage in together
- Songs by the elder female members of the family sung in unison with the bride as the focal point
- An open dance floor to commemorate the festivities for the following days
The ceremony is celebrated by both the bride’s and the groom’s family together at a common venue. A grand stage is set where the performances take place. Choreographers teach dance steps to the entire relative bandwagon. The relatives perform in pairs or in groups.
